// You Me At Six // Gunnersville Festival 2019 // Gunnersbury Park // 08-09-19//

Making a huge entrance to the stage playing their first ever single ‘Save It For The Bedroom’, the You Me At Six lads brought an insane amount of energy to their sold out two hour headline set. Performing all of their singles in chronological order in front of an aesthetically pleasing background of colourful lighting, strobes, confetti, CO2 cannons and fire erupting from the stage (which at one point nearly set a band member alight) only added to the electric energy from the entire band from start to finish.

Lead singer Josh Franceschi’s combination of humour, brutal honesty, expressions of gratitude and a meaningful speech about his struggles added to the already huge community feel, where fans were singing with strangers, dancing together, crowd surfing, telling people they loved them and were genuinely having the time of their lives. The communication between the band and the crowd was frequent and genuine; Josh described YMAS as “the people’s band” and it was hard to disagree, as he made each person in the big top feel included.

Playing this setlist was a unique move, and a very smart one, made obvious by the roars of delight from the crowd at the beginning of each song. I heard all of my favourites and by the sound of the crowd they all did too.

This was my first time seeing You Me At Six live and definitely won’t be my last, with a new album coming in early 2020, there will definitely be some tour announcements soon!
