// Tyla Yaweh // Reading Festival 2019 // Richfield  Avenue // 24-08-19 //

Rushing into the Reading Festival arena to get into the Radio 1XTRA tent, I was excited to see Tyla Yaweh again after previously watching him open for Post Malone on his Beerbongs and Bentleys Europe Tour. The ‘High Right Now’ singer had created quite a buzz, and once I found my way to the front row, I couldn’t see far back enough to spot the end of the huge crowd.

During his set, Tyla performed all of the crowd favourites, from ‘She Bad’ and ‘Salute’ to slow song ‘They Ain’t You’ and he even included a tribute to XXXTentacion to get the already lively crowd even higher off of the ground. I’ve never seen so much energy from a performer, Tyla practically flew across the stage as he sang, rapped, jumped and danced without missing a beat. The crowd interactions were frequent, with motivational speeches and expressions of gratitude which came across as genuine and he was on and off stage diving into the crowd getting up close and personal. He somehow made a large crowd feel like they were in an intimate venue and did so whilst still having the production of a large festival show. The lighting was incredible and the visuals meant I couldn’t take my eyes away from his amazing performance.

I’m really looking forward to seeing more from this up and coming artist and can’t wait for another show and more music!
