// The Kid Laroi // OMEARA // Intimate London Show // 27-08-21 //

Last night, The Kid Laroi hit the stage at London’s OMEARA for his first-ever headline performance in the capital city, which took place just two days after it was announced to his massive social following. The event sold out immediately and saw the newly turned 18-year-old perform a well-curated setlist of his multiple chart-topping tracks.

Still seemingly unaware of his global stardom, The Kid Laroi, born Charlton Howard, entered the stage to high decibel cheers from a very eager crowd. The longer than expected set saw the singer/rapper on stage for 90 minutes in the cosy venue, which felt all the more intimate with his constant interactions.

Running on just three hours of sleep and rushing off stage to puke, The Kid Laroi still managed to put on an incredible show, where he dived off stage, joined a mosh pit and invited the audience for drinks at a local pub after his set.

Performing 18 songs, including unreleased track, “Thousand Miles”, global smash, “Stay” and impromptu encore, “Pikachu”, the teen had the 320 capacity venue feeling thousands-strong throughout his performance, especially during “Diva”, where the energised crowd and headliner barely kept their feet on the ground.

After recently becoming the youngest solo artist ever to reach number one on the ARIA album charts and collaborations with the likes of Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber already on his back, this relative newcomer shows no signs of slowing down. Set to perform at Reading & Leeds and ALT LDN festivals over the next few days prove that small stages are insufficient for the Sydney native, who is more than ready for arena shows.

Luckily, it won’t be long before The Kid Laroi returns to the UK. Announcing “End of the World Tour coming soon” as he closed his set gives fans much more time to prepare for next time around!
