// Jake Miller // Overnight Tour // Electric Ballroom Camden // 22-04-17 //

A very biased review incoming…

I have loved and supported Jake since 2012 and have watched him grow from an unsigned artist with a few YouTube videos to a self taught pianist, guitarist, songwriter and producer. This show was my second time seeing Jake live after first watching him play in Islington in 2015. I didn’t think that anything would top the first show but Jake made it happen. Accompanying him on stage were his tight knit crew, including guitarist Mike Naran, drummer Kevin Smart and bassist Walter Allmon. I had purchased a meet and greet to see Jake, which included a VIP laminate, signed poster and a photo opportunity. The meet and greet was very relaxed and unlike many other experiences meeting artists at shows, I didn’t feel rushed or pressured to pick up the pace.

As well as being a great guy and very genuine, Jake puts a lot of effort into his live shows. Getting the barrier to a Jake Miller show is always an advantage, the crowd interactions are frequent and he will do everything he can to make sure everyone has the night of their lives. Jake’s vocal abilities have improved massively, which was made more obvious when performing his new unreleased songs. I haven’t been to a show as lively as a Jake Miller gig, where I left with ripped jeans from jumping around in time to his faster paced songs such as ‘Collide’ and ‘Lion Heart’. Jake even put in energy to his more motivational songs such as ‘Ghost’ and ‘A Million Lives’, which had the majority of the crowd tearing up. I have never wanted success for an artist as much as I have for Jake and I would really recommend seeing him live before he becomes huge and starts selling out much bigger venues!
