// EDEN // No Future Tour // Roundhouse Camden // 10-03-20 //

Last night, Camden’s beautiful Roundhouse venue saw Eden put on an incredible audio-visual performance, titled ‘Do You See Me Now?’. The project combined songs from the set with themed artwork, including 90s style televisions and film cameras. The staging was more of an art gallery installation than a concert experience and housed a completely different type of atmosphere, where instead of screaming fans bouncing around to the lively beat, the crowd of around 3000 calmly stood and sang along loudly in awe of the incredible aesthetics.

Playing almost every song from his new album ‘No Future’, the 24 year old musician sang more powerful notes than on studio versions whilst changing instruments frequently. Simply wearing a white tee and blue jeans, the spotlight wasn’t wholly on Eden himself but instead the entire stage and visuals surrounding him. Focusing so much on the new album meant that many older favourites did not make the set, but continuing to play XO, Sex and End Credits on the tour left the crowd feeling more than satisfied with the hour and a half set.

Watching the gig from the front row certainly had its advantages; when the singer sat down by the side of the stage and out of most of the audience’s view, early arrivals were still able to see the singer clearly, almost like watching him singing in his bedroom through a partially open door.

In a show that was clearly about the art and not the artist, Eden only briefly addressed the audience and instead concentrated on putting on a flawless performance, where there were guitar solos, stunning vocals and a 3000 person singalong. The gig was not only an unmissable show but a memorable one well worth waiting in the rain for.
