// Chase Atlantic // Phases Tour Europe // O2 Forum Kentish Town // 06-10-19 //

Taking to the stage in London for their biggest show to date, Chase Atlantic walked out to cheers and screams from over 2,000 people. Kicking off the night with ‘Angels’, the band had no time to warm up to match the insane energy from the loud and lively audience.

Having previously seen Chase Atlantic in December last year, I had high expectations, but did not expect them to get anywhere near close to as good of a crowd. Yet, at this Sunday night show they managed to exceed every expectation with crazy high energy levels from start to finish and the audience reciprocated by jumping, moshing, dancing, singing and at points even screaming the lyrics.

The loud and energetic atmosphere was further enhanced by mesmerising visuals to match the mood of each song, there were strobes thrown into the mix as well to add to the aesthetic. With lead singer Mitchel Cave standing on a small podium in the front centre of stage to be fully visible to the packed crowd, it made his smiles in disbelief shine and his interactions with the crowd more clear. The entire band performed well and were often hyping each other up to increase their unmatchable energy.

As much as I enjoyed every moment of their performance, I left the show wanting more. Their short set of just 14 songs meant that two of my favourites, ‘Triggered’ and ‘No Rainbows’ didn’t make the cut. However, we got to hear so many new songs off their sophomore album, Phases as well as tracks from their Don’t Try This EP, and even some songs dating a little further back including ‘Swim’ where water was splashed into the crowd and an encore performance of ‘Friends’.
